The Sarasota/Manatee Farmworker  Supporters are sponsoring a

very important and exciting public meeting on Farmworker Health

to be held on Saturday, August 7th, 2004, 2:00pm, in the Selby Library

auditorium in Sarasota.
The two speakers will be: Tirso Moreno, head of the Farmworker Association of Florida, an organization

in the forefront of the fight to help the farmworker improve his daily existence; and Dr. Luis Moldonado, an expert on pediatrics and the illnesses of farmworkers.

Dr. Moldonado is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the USF College of Medicine and a director of Pediatrics at Healthpark at Tampa General Healthcare.

Problems of pesticides, work injuries, stress, poor nutrition and neglect will be

examined and discussed in the context of poor medical treatment and absent

or inadequate insurance coverage.
