Union plans events for inauguration

Woodburn — Oregon's largest farmworker union will host two events celebrating the inauguration of President-elect Barack Obama as the nation's first black president.

The festivities will start at 8:30 a.m. Jan. 20 at the PCUN Union Hall, 300 Young St. in Woodburn. The event will include a live broadcast of the inauguration ceremony from the steps of the nation's Capitol, followed by a community conversation. Mexican pastries and coffee will be served.

The second event will kick off at 5:30 p.m. at the hall. It will include a variety of Mexican foods, Latin music and dancing.

Both events are free and open to the public.
