Farm worker housing project built by diocese dedicated

SUNNYSIDE -- A 51-unit farm worker housing project that will accommodate roughly 250 men, women and children was blessed during a dedication ceremony Friday.

The housing project covers nearly six acres and adjoins the Catholic Family & Child Service Office at 330 N. 16th St. in Sunnyside.

The service agency offers seasonal child care, child care resources and referral, counseling and a volunteer chore service program.

The project was designed and built by the Catholic Charities Housing Services, an agency of the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Yakima.
